Section 01

Agreement to Terms

By making a booking or using the services of Corbett Tourism ("the Company," "we," "us"), you ("the Customer," "you") confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Corbett Tourism.

If you are making a booking on behalf of other persons, you represent that you have the authority to accept these terms on their behalf and that all members of the party have read and agreed to these conditions.

These Terms and Conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of Uttarakhand, India. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted within the jurisdiction of the courts of Uttarakhand.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.

Section 02

Advance Deposit

A non-refundable advance deposit of 30% of the total tour value is required to confirm your booking. No booking shall be considered confirmed until this deposit is received and acknowledged by the Company in writing.

Full Payment

The remaining balance of 70% of the total tour cost must be settled in full no later than 7 days before your tour departure date. Failure to complete payment by this deadline may result in automatic cancellation of the booking, and cancellation charges as per our Cancellation Policy will apply.

Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit and issue of a written confirmation by Corbett Tourism. Verbal agreements, email inquiries, or tentative holds do not constitute a confirmed booking.

  • Accepted ID documents include: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, and Driving Licence.
  • Safari permits are issued in the name provided at booking; name discrepancies may result in permit rejection by the forest department, for which the Company bears no liability.

Section 03

Payment Policy

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Bank Transfer / NEFT / RTGS (preferred for large amounts)
  • UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay, BHIM)

Pricing

All prices published by Corbett Tourism are per person on a twin/double sharing basis unless explicitly stated as being on a different basis (e.g., per vehicle, per group, or single occupancy). Single supplement charges apply for solo travellers requiring a private room.

Price Match Guarantee

We offer a price match guarantee on identical safari packages booked through licensed operators. To claim a price match: the competing quote must be for the exact same package, dates, vehicle type, accommodation, and inclusions; the quote must be in writing from a verifiable registered tour operator; and the claim must be submitted before booking confirmation. The Company reserves the right to verify and decline unsubstantiated price match claims.

Section 04

Tour Changes by the Company

Itinerary Alterations

Corbett Tourism reserves the right to alter, amend, or modify any part of the tour itinerary at any time where deemed necessary due to weather conditions, safety concerns, forest department restrictions, permit unavailability, or any other operational reason beyond our reasonable control. We will endeavour to provide comparable alternatives where possible.

Force Majeure Substitutions

In the event of force majeure circumstances (defined in Section 7), we may substitute accommodation, transport, safari zones, or activities with alternatives of equal or superior standard at no additional cost to the customer. Substitutions of lower standard will be accompanied by an appropriate refund of the price differential.

Minimum Group Size

Certain tour packages operate subject to a minimum group size. If the minimum is not achieved, the Company will notify you no less than 10 days before departure and offer the following options: a full refund of all amounts paid, transfer to an alternative departure date, or continuation of the tour at a revised price applicable to the actual group size.

Accommodation

Where the specified accommodation is unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Company's control, we reserve the right to substitute accommodation of equivalent or higher category. If only lower-category accommodation is available, the price differential will be refunded. Corbett Tourism does not guarantee specific room types, room numbers, or views within any property.

Section 05

Responsibility & Liability

Company's Role

Corbett Tourism acts as a tour operator and agent for the services provided, including accommodation, transport, safari permits, and guides. While we carefully select our partners and service providers, we are not directly liable for acts, omissions, or defaults of third-party suppliers operating independently.

Health and Fitness

Customers are responsible for ensuring they are physically and medically fit to undertake the booked activities. We strongly recommend consulting a physician before booking if you have pre-existing medical conditions. The Company reserves the right to exclude a customer from participating in activities if, in our guide's professional judgement, participation poses a risk to that individual or others.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all customers and is the sole responsibility of the Customer to arrange. Insurance should ideally cover: trip cancellation or curtailment, medical emergencies and evacuation, personal accident, loss of baggage, and travel delays. The Company accepts no liability for losses that would have been covered by adequate travel insurance.

Wildlife Encounters

Wildlife safaris take place in a live forest environment. The presence, behaviour, and proximity of wild animals — including tigers, elephants, leopards, and other wildlife — is entirely unpredictable. By booking a safari, you explicitly acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with wildlife encounters in a natural habitat.

The Company, its guides, and drivers take all reasonable precautions to ensure guest safety. However, no liability is accepted for injury, loss, or damage arising from wildlife encounters that occur despite adherence to forest department safety guidelines.

Safari Permit Compliance

All customers must comply with the conditions stipulated on their individual safari permits issued by the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Violation of permit conditions may result in immediate expulsion from the park and potential legal action by forest authorities. The Company bears no liability for consequences arising from customer non-compliance with permit regulations.

Section 06

Cancellation by Customer

Cancellations by the Customer are governed by our dedicated Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions and is incorporated herein by reference.

Please read the full Cancellation & Refund Policy carefully before making your booking. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to cancellations@corbetttourism.com.

The effective date of cancellation is the date on which written confirmation of the cancellation is issued by the Company, not the date of the customer's cancellation request.

Section 07

Force Majeure

Definition

Force majeure refers to circumstances beyond the Company's reasonable control including, but not limited to: natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, landslides, fire), government orders or travel advisories, national park closures ordered by competent authorities, war or civil unrest, pandemics or public health emergencies, strikes, and extreme weather events.

COVID-19 and Pandemic Provisions

In the event that government-mandated restrictions, lockdowns, or travel bans directly prevent tour operation or customer travel, the following provisions apply: tours will be postponed to the next available date by mutual agreement; customers may opt for a full credit note valid for 24 months in lieu of a cash refund; where a cash refund is legally mandated or mutually agreed, processing may take up to 30 business days due to the volume of affected bookings.

Liability

Corbett Tourism accepts no liability for cancellations, curtailments, delays, or additional costs incurred as a result of force majeure events. We will not be in breach of these Terms and Conditions where performance of our obligations is prevented by such circumstances.

Credit Note vs. Refund

In force majeure situations, the Company's primary remedy offered to customers is a credit note of equivalent value, valid for 24 months and redeemable against any Corbett Tourism package. At our discretion, and subject to recovery of costs from our own suppliers, we may offer a partial or full cash refund. The Company will communicate its position within 14 business days of the force majeure event being declared.

Section 08

Wildlife Safari Regulations

Forest Department Rules

All visitors to Jim Corbett National Park are required by law to comply with the rules and regulations set by the Uttarakhand Forest Department. These rules take precedence over any arrangement made with the Company, and ignorance of these rules is not an acceptable defence.

Wildlife Sightings

No guarantee of specific wildlife sightings — including tiger, leopard, elephant, or any other species — is provided or implied by the Company. Safari itineraries and zones are designed to maximise the probability of wildlife encounters, but outcomes depend entirely on the natural behaviour of wild animals in their habitat.

Guide Instructions

All instructions issued by your allocated Corbett Tourism guide and the government-appointed forest guard are mandatory and must be followed without exception. This includes directives regarding safe distances from animals, noise levels, photography restrictions, vehicle positioning, and duration of time at any sighting location.

Prohibited Items and Behaviour

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited within all forest zones of Jim Corbett National Park.
  • Consumption of alcohol or intoxicating substances within the park is prohibited by law.
  • Single-use plastic items including plastic bags, bottles, and wrappers are prohibited within park boundaries.
  • Littering, feeding wildlife, or attempting to attract animals is prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the park.
  • Loud music, raised voices, and disruptive behaviour are prohibited throughout the safari.

Permit Availability

Safari permits are subject to availability as determined by the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Permit quotas are fixed by zone and shift; the Company cannot guarantee permit procurement for any specific zone, date, or shift after booking. Where permits are unavailable, we will offer alternative zones or dates; if no suitable alternative is found, a full refund of the safari component will be issued.

Section 09

Intellectual Property

All content on the Corbett Tourism website — including but not limited to text, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, itineraries, and package descriptions — is the exclusive intellectual property of Corbett Tourism or is used with the permission of the respective rights holders.

Reproduction, distribution, modification, display, or transmission of any website content, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of Corbett Tourism is strictly prohibited. Authorised press, travel writers, and partners should contact us at corbetthorizontours@gmail.com to request usage permissions.

Personal, non-commercial use of website content for the purpose of planning your tour is permitted. Customer-submitted reviews, photographs, and testimonials shared with the Company may be used in our marketing materials, for which you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence upon submission.

Section 10

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions, the services provided, or any booking made with Corbett Tourism, the parties agree to the following resolution process:

  1. Direct Resolution: The aggrieved party should first contact Corbett Tourism in writing, clearly stating the nature of the dispute and the remedy sought. We commit to responding within 7 business days.
  2. Mediation: If direct resolution is not achieved within 30 days of notification, both parties agree to submit the dispute to mediation by a mutually agreed mediator before pursuing litigation. The cost of mediation shall be shared equally unless the mediator directs otherwise.
  3. Arbitration or Litigation: If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute shall be referred to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Uttarakhand, India. These Terms are governed by Indian law. Both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uttarakhand for any legal proceedings.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or other emergency relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
