Early cable car ride up to Snow View Point for a first proper look at the snow range, weather permitting. Breakfast back at the hotel, then check out and begin the scenic 3.5-hour drive to Kausani, winding through terraced fields and pine forest.

Check in by early evening in time for sunset — Kausani's ridge-top hotels look straight out at a nearly 300 km stretch of Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi and Trishul. Short walk to the Anasakti Ashram (where Gandhi wrote part of his commentary on the Bhagavad Gita) if energy allows. Dinner with mountain views.

Rise before dawn for the sunrise over the peaks — Kausani's signature moment, when the snow line turns pink and gold. After breakfast, drive to Jageshwar, a cluster of 124 stone temples dating back over a thousand years, set inside a grove of towering deodar cedars. A quiet, unhurried stop rather than a ticked-box visit.

Continue to Ranikhet by afternoon and check in. Evening walk through the cantonment's deodar avenues to the golf course viewpoint, one of the highest in Asia, followed by dinner.

Morning visit to a local apple orchard (seasonal) and the Chaubatia Gardens before checkout. Begin the drive back down to Kathgodam, timed to connect with afternoon trains or flights. Your coordinator hands over a printed Kumaon travel map marking every stop, in case you want to plan a return trip to the villages you didn't have time for.
