Corbett's Peaceful Buffer Zone

Dhela is Jim Corbett's buffer zone — a transitional landscape between the protected national park and the surrounding community forests. While it lacks the fame of Dhikala or Bijrani, Dhela has something those zones rarely offer: tranquility. Vehicle counts are strictly limited, meaning you often have stretches of forest track entirely to yourself.

The zone is characterised by mixed sal and riverine forest along the Dhela River, with a mosaic of grasslands that sustain large concentrations of Hog Deer — one of the highest densities in India. Wild Asian elephants are regularly sighted in the mornings, often in groups of 15–25 animals moving between the buffer and the core park.

What is the tiger sighting probability in Dhela Zone?
